Notification to all CNOOC Suppliers / Contractors

Dear Sir / Madam,

We would like to alert you to several incidents with the following modus operandi that recently have occurred involving persons posing as employees of CNOOC SES Ltd. (“CNOOC”)

A person pretending to be a CNOOC employee calls a CNOOC supplier or contractor (“Supplier”), and tells the Supplier to call a particular CNOOC employee at a certain phone number. If the supplier calls the number, the call is answered by a second person impersonating the identified CNOOC employee. This person asks the Supplier for certain financial favors, such as transferring a certain amount of money to the impersonator’s financial account.

CNOOC would like all of our Supplier to be aware of this modus operandi, and that these fraudulent request are not initiated or associated with CNOOC’s personnel. Therefore, we kindly request your cooperation to report any suspicious call from person claiming to be CNOOC employees to:
